Silvia Fornaro

Silvia obtained her Master's degree in 2021 in Cognitive Neuroscience and Clinical Neuropsychology at the University of Padova. Between 2021 and 2024, she attended the Ph.D. program in Neuroscience at the Padova Neuroscience Center (PNC). During her Ph.D., Silvia studied the cognitive, behavioral and neural endophenotypes of subclinical traits predisposing to the development of severe psychiatric conditions (e.g., obsessive-compulsive disorders, addiction, ADHD). In 2024, Sivia joined the Neuroscience and Society LAB (Prof. Raffaella Rumiati) at SISSA as a postdoctoral researcher fellow. Currently, Silvia is studying the environmental and cognitive factors contributing to establish a pool of cognitive resources (i.e., cognitive reserve) possibly protecting from cognitive decline, both in young and older adults. Her main research interests include the interplay between high-level cognitive and affective processes, psychological and environmental factors predisposing to the development of psychiatric disorders and cognitive deficits.
